Tile Calculator

Calculate how many tiles you need for a floor or wall, including waste for cuts.

How Does This Calculator Work?

The calculator adds your waste percentage to the room area, then divides by the coverage of a single tile, rounding up to a whole tile count.

Cutting tile to fit room edges always creates some waste. This calculator adds a waste allowance to your room area before dividing by each tile's coverage.

Example Calculation

Bathroom Floor Example

A 100 sq ft bathroom, 18"×18" tiles (2.25 sq ft each), 10% waste.

(100×1.10)/2.25 ≈ 48.9, rounded up to 49 tiles.

Frequently Asked Questions
